Ensnared – a vine, full
Fruit lay like a prayer mat
My wail; a birdsong.
Where it goes I follow
My mind’s rooted here
In the shadow of sunrise;
When it moves, I move.

Painting charcoal skies,
Stars unmated, reign – my dreams,
Himself my vast birth.
Impression Sunrise painting by Claude Monet
Your fingertips paint
My sky, a brutal dome –home,
Final resting place.
I cling to your lips,
Buried by each breath; rise, fall,
– subtle renewal.
